The fourth quarter of 2024 in the Middle East showed interesting trends for the top five social networking apps on the iOS platform. According to data from Sensor Tower, these apps demonstrated varied performance in terms of weekly downloads and active users.

Threads from Instagram, Inc. saw a gradual decrease in weekly downloads, starting at around 131K and ending the quarter at approximately 107K. However, the app's weekly active users consistently increased, beginning at 2.3M and reaching nearly 3M by the end of December.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a steady user base with weekly active users hovering around 20M throughout the quarter. Downloads fluctuated slightly, starting at 84K and closing the quarter at about 74K.

Telegram Messenger experienced a steady revenue increase, peaking at $151K in the final week of December. Downloads showed a downward trend, beginning at 84K and ending at 64K, while active users slightly decreased from 11.7M to 10.8M.

Facebook from Meta Platforms, Inc. saw modest variations in revenue, with a peak of $33K mid-quarter. Weekly downloads remained fairly stable, starting at 49K and ending at 48K, while active users increased from 9.2M to 9.4M.

Google Meet showed a decline in weekly downloads from 46K to 28K. Active users fluctuated slightly, starting at 1.8M and ending at 1.8M.
